Clinique - Cruelty Free?

In October, I started a series on Cruelty Free and I have had a few more replies from the cosmetic brands/companies I have contacted. Over the coming months I will be posting the replies from the companies.

Are Clinique Cruelty Free? I contacted clinique and this is what they had to say.

What do you think?

  1. Clinique are owned by estee lauder who do still test on animals. In my book that means that they're not cruelty free...
This lady is great! If you have any questions about a companie or just genreally being cruelty free ask her! She's very friendly and knows more about this stuff then I do :)

She's on Youtube and has a blog as well as her website which has a list of companies who she's personally emailed to get statments from :)
I think it's great that more and more people are making a stand against animal testing!! :)

  2. I got a similar answer from P&G. And as far as I know, it is NEVER requires by law to test on animals!!! Do they think we are stupid or what??

  3. It's only 'required by law' when they're using new and potentially dangerous chemicals that haven't been tested before. Even then, the results obtained from animal testing can be wrong (and normally are) and they need to do further research and tests.
There's no real need for animal testing anymore, I can see why they did it in the past, but we so technologically advanced now that it all very primitive to me...

  4. It didn't seem like a very comprehensive answer did it?! I just hope that changes in the law will stop any cosmetic testing. xx

  5. @G A B Y I'm not sure they think we are stupid, however I do think the answer they gave were vague at best.

@IndigoOptimist While I feel that all cosmetic brands/companies should be open about testing.
As most don't and don't label their products,I feel I should do what I can to highlight which brands/companies are cruelty free and which aren't.

@TheBristolBeautyBlog I totally agree.I hope the law changes very soon too. Xxx
