Goodbye 2012,Hello 2013

This should hopefully give you an insight into where I have been and why I have been quiet.

Last year I spent much of it feeling like I’m not in Kansas anymore, 2012 took a downturn for the worse in January and I had completely hit rock bottom by April 2012. But what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, right?

I was made redundant, my relationship of nearly a decade ended and it was by no means an easy break up, all this happened in the space of a few days.

I had to move house twice between May and August. Seeing me move from Wiltshire to Notts and then back to the North East, where I'm now based and much happier. My brother was also taken ill whilst the final house move and my new job were under way. I had to say goodbye to my two best friends, leaving Harriet behind in Wiltshire only to be re-united with Mel  for a short time (once back in NE), only to say Bon Voyage in November as she embarked on her amazing adventure to Oz for the next year or.....?
September, October and November also took with them one set of grandparents and Jess the family dog.

The last few years for me have been a little rough and last year was by far the most difficult and challenging in every way possible and no surprises that by December, I was ready to drop a house on 2012.

I am very very lucky to have such a great support network, of family and friends (old and new) around me who have helped piece me back together and for that I am eternally grateful.
I have learnt a lot about myself. I've grown and emotionally I’m lot stronger. For the first time in such a long time I can say I'm happy and settled. I’m ready to take on the world and I say bring it on 2013!

With all that jazz I have found I’m also more focused and hopefully on the right road so here they are my goals for 2013.

Write more and pay attention to my blog because I do love it but have in recent yrs allowed my personal life to distract me from this. Not anymore!

Make more time for friends near and far, I made a start on this in December with a little help from some Christmas cards.

Read more try and work through the shelves and shelves of unread books I have. Complete the 12 books on my local book club list for this year, even if the books aren't my cup of tea and I don't like the writers. Compile all my baking recipes into one book and get more of my mum and grandma's recipes.

Bake and cook more for myself, I enjoy baking but mostly only do it for others for work, birthdays and Christmas. I get such satisfaction from baking; cooking for others,I forget to make the effort for just me.

Lose weight ideally 2 stone by end of April, I started in December and I'm now 9lbs lighter. Maybe post a few OOTD, if I’m feeling brave and you want to see that?

Invest in a camera of my own as my blackberry camera doesn't cut the other camera I did use I don't have access to anymore. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Make a difference,to do something for the benefit of others whether I donate my time, money, makeup or blood. I would like to try and do something at least once a month.

No new makeup one pan in one pan out, unless it something limited edition I want or I'm replacing something I use frequently. No more nail polish and definitely no more perfume until my holiday.

Go to IMATS and meet other awesome bloggers  ♥  like Kim

Re-waterproof my shoes, take the shoes that need repairing to the cobblers and don't leave them sat unloved in the bottom of my wardrobes. Waterproof the shoes that need protecting. More shoes of the day and no new shoes until my holiday.

Go on holiday with Harriet to Paris ♥

Watch all these Horrors in 2013
As a daft goal I decided I would attempt to scare myself through timeout's list with Harriet. Some of you may have seen my long distance horror film tweets. Every Friday night around 8/9pm Harriet and I watch one of the horrors from the list and then we have a gossip about afterwards.

♥ Save for a trip to OZ to see Mel ♥

Re-explore York & Leeds

Be happy

Thanks for reading and sticking with me.
